I’m Tucker.

Over the past three decades in my career as a writer and editor I’ve worked in magazines (Out, Quake, Parade, Cook’s Country), newspapers (Denver Post), advertising (Anderson & Lembke/McCann), digital media (Alloy.com, Time Warner), and much more.

I also write fiction, mostly for young readers. My latest, RIGHT BESIDE YOU (Holt), has earned starred reviews from Kirkus, Booklist, Library Journal, and more. My 2022 novel, WHEN YOU CALL MY NAME (Holt), earned multiple starred reviews and appeared in several best-of-year roundups.

My freelance writing (mostly about food and books) has appeared in Kirkus Reviews, The Wall Street Journal, Gourmet, New York, the Bittman Project, and many other outlets. I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting assignments.
